The speakers elaborated on the growing responsibilities of parents in the present era, the mental and emotional needs of children, the importance of effective communication between parents and children, and the significance of positive parenting. Through examples from everyday life, inspiring incidents, short stories and sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), they explained that parents play a fundamental role in shaping a child’s personality.
Special emphasis was placed on the need to guide and counsel parents in a timely manner, along with providing guidance and correction to children. In the present era, technology, social media, academic pressure and changing social conditions have created new challenges for both parents and children. The speakers noted that these challenges can be addressed through wisdom, love, patience and mutual trust.
The speakers urged parents to develop a friendly and trust-based relationship with their children, listen to them attentively, understand their abilities and focus not only on academic success but also on their morals, character and overall personality development.
Parents and other participants appreciated the programme and expressed the view that such guidance and counselling programmes should be organised regularly.
