Gaza: Palestinian factions have strongly condemned the targeting of the “Al-Asala” building in western Gaza City by the occupying Israeli forces, which resulted in the killing of five Palestinians. They called for practical measures to protect civilians, compel the occupying state to respect the ceasefire, and hold it accountable for violations.

In separate statements, the factions warned against the continued attacks amid the absence of accountability and deterrence, stressing that political pledges are not enough to guarantee the safety of residents unless they are translated into concrete measures to prevent renewed bombardment and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.

The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine said that targeting civilians in Gaza City and killing five of them constituted a serious violation of the ceasefire. It warned that the agreement must not become a cover for the continuation of attacks.

The Front stressed that targeting Palestinians amid the devastating humanitarian conditions doubles the dangers they face. It called on the mediators and guarantor parties, foremost among them the United States, to translate their commitments into practical measures to stop the attacks and ensure respect for the agreement.

The Democratic Front also called on the United Nations, the Security Council and international stakeholders to fulfill their responsibilities in protecting civilians, preventing violations and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid.

The Front stressed that any ceasefire agreement has “no real significance” without clear mechanisms for monitoring, accountability and enforcement that protect residents and prevent repeated violations.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Mujahideen Movement condemned the targeting of the “Al-Asala” building, saying that the continued crimes against civilians confirm that the occupying forces are continuing to violate international law and agreements and are benefiting from impunity and international silence.

The movement held the U.S. administration and the Peace Council responsible for providing political cover to the occupying forces, which, it said, encourages them to continue their crimes.

The movement called on Arab and Islamic countries and free people around the world to take action, pressure for an end to the attacks, support the Palestinian people and defend their right to life, freedom and dignity.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian Al-Ahrar Movement condemned the targeting of the “Al-Asala” building in western Gaza City, saying the attack killed five Palestinians, most of them women. Among those killed were Maria Hafez Abu Dawoud and her daughter Misa, who belonged to the Christian community.

The movement said the continued killing of civilians reflects the absence of accountability and international deterrence, while the deaths of the mother and daughter confirm, it said, that the occupying forces target Palestinians without discrimination, regardless of their religious identity.

The movement affirmed that Palestinian blood is one and that the unity of the Palestinian people, comprising Muslims and Christians, will remain stronger than attempts to destroy its national fabric.

It held the international community and the United Nations responsible for the continuation of the crimes and called for immediate action to stop the aggression, protect civilians and hold the leaders of the occupying authorities accountable.

It is noteworthy that at dawn on Sunday, Israeli bombardment targeted the ground floor of the Al-Asala building, located opposite Yazji Bakery west of Haidar Square in Gaza City. The attack killed five Palestinians, including four women, and injured others.

The victims were Maria Hafez Michel al-Najjar “Abu Dawoud,” Misa Khader Ibrahim Abu Dawoud, Dr. Yasmin al-Boubou, Haloum al-Boubou, and 21-year-old Bilal Ali Khalil Ouda.

Ambulance and Civil Defense crews worked to recover the bodies of the victims and transport the injured to hospitals, while the bombardment caused damage to the building and surrounding properties.

According to the figures cited in the report, the overall toll from Israel’s war in the Gaza Strip, which has continued for nearly three years, has reached 74,040 Palestinians killed and 175,168 injured.
